Nederland Area Trails Organization (NATO) based in Nederland, CO is a non-profit seeking to help preserve, maintain, and advocate for trail-user groups in Nederland and the surrounding area. NATO is an all-volunteer organization and wants to engage new volunteers and donors by showcasing their work on their site. The original site had some functionality challenges, needed a refresh, and was hampered by poor load times and organization challenges.
NATO approached Relish because they needed some tender love and care for their old site. As a volunteer organization, they had a simple site but it was dated, poorly organized, and not mobile-friendly. NATO also needed an updated framework for its site on which to continue to build their organization that would be easier to update and maintain. The site also required new copy, updated imagery, and calendar integration to help mobilize volunteers and donors and allow quick distribution of action-items related to trail use in the Nederland area.
Relish approached this challenge by focusing on building a solid website from the ground up. They started with providing hosting, creating a new site framework and organization, and copywriting on top of site design and development to provide the foundation on which NATO could grow its influence. The new site was built to improve audience engagement with interesting site design and an easier ability to funnel donors and volunteers to the right place to take action. Email outreach, social media standardization, and brand amplification were also rolled out to reduce brand dilution in the marketplace and establish a tone that provides differentiation among other trail groups in the area.
Relish helped deliver a new website that not only provides an attractive, modern style, but drives engagements for our non-profit. The updated site helps us communicate with our members and those interested in helping preserve the trail systems – fulfilling our mission as an organization.
