Volunteers for Colorado (VOC) approached Relish and asked for assistance in creating a new, eCommerce website to expand their mission beyond Colorado. This new site would enable the VOC to provide resources and tools for organizations outside of the state. These resources will help them gain access to and purchase support materials that help organizations navigate the complexity and challenges of developing a volunteer corps and sustainability projects. The site needed to be easy to use, integrate CiviCore-a non-profit-focused CRM, and be able to be built upon and expanded as the organization’s business grows.
VOC had no problems with mass changes and updates to the site. They recognized the power of their website as well as the necessary brand updates that needed to be made to attract their target demographics, which varied. The challenge with this project came primarily from the integration of their website the non-profit specific CRM system, CiviCore. There were complex integrations that needed to happen on the backside which forced Relish to develop unique coding and website solutions to make the CRM work correctly. These complex integrations were critical to enable interested parties to effectively engage with the system and move through the interface smoothly.
To successfully integrate the CiviCore CRM into the site, with the necessary customization to make it work, Relish created a custom web design on the WordPress Platform to provide a pathway-driven online experience for accessing and purchasing volunteer coordination resources. We also used CiviCore’s API’s to integrate the CRM with the new site to enable the usage of analytics tracking, eCommerce interactions, and single-database management systems for user engagement and tracking. The complexity of these systems were designed to not interfere with the user’s experience and in fact makes everything from a user experience seamless and easy to use.
